Figurative Mixed Media on paper

Sometimes I just want to paint without grabbing lost of materials and making a big mess. Making some Figurative Mixed Media on Paper is the perfect way to create in these moments. Lots of abstract and figurative art starts as a part of a bigger painting on paper, which gets cut up later. I really love creating like this and move forward on a painting later on. But I also just grab the paper to try something new.

I always work on quality paper, mostly on watercolor paper from at least 140 lbs. Often I work on a base by collage or random mark-making. But sometimes I just like to work on a sketch and enjoy the process. Doing mixed media on paper really is different than my other Mixed Media Paintings.

Most of my artwork is sold. I sell through Etsy, a worldwide platform for selling unique handmade items. Go and have a look at my current offers.
If you would like to receive more information about mixed media painting – or about a certain painting – you can always send me an e-mail.

Used materials in Mixed Media on Paper

I only use quality materials.
For coloring the artwork I use Amsterdam Experts Acrylics and Inks, Fluids and High Flow Acrylics from Golden, and other various professional brands. The paint is highly pigmented and the colors are bright and deep and they will last. Besides acrylics I also use various inks, Indian inks, pigments, metallic, powders and so on; all from the known professional brands and way to much to mention here in a list.
I also use various mediums (gesso, thinners, thickers, gels) of professional brands like Golden and Liquitex.

The paper I use is heavy quality, at least 140 lbs watercolor paper, so it doesn’t get satiated by all media on top.
I varnish all my artwork for protection and they will be delivered without a passe-partout.
Framing these artworks really adds a specials effect. The frames don’t need to be expensive and the artwork doesn’t have to be behind glass. You may even skip the passe-partout and mount the artwork as if it is floating. It’s just what you like the best.
