Mixed Media in my Art Journal and more

Working in my Art Journal and on ‘just’ paper gives me joy. Playing without a specific goal and enjoying the process. It inspires me, loosens me up and lets me experiment with new forms, colors and materials. It is so much fun to do! Playing around with lots of mixed media lessons is also something I like to do; just to learn new techniques and new insights.

I have an old book with a cream colored cover from the 70s. I got it from my love to use as an Art Journal. And for me it is not only special that this book looks cool, but also that my love gave it to me to work in. The book may become grungy, really messy and it may fall apart. Al that only adds to me loosening up more from having to create something beautiful and being able to enjoy the process even more.

I collect the loose paper art in a binder, just for me to keep. So pretty to look at and to see the collection al together. Whatever I make in the book or on the loose papers, can be an inspiration to make on a canvas too. Not always of course, but whatever I like, I use more: color combinations, structures, textures, materials. By working completely free from expectations, I discover what I like and I want to do more of what I like.

Of course the artworks are not for sale. For me they are references and a journal. Other artwork by me is for sale in my Etsy Shop. Go and have a look at my current offers.
If you would like to receive more information about art journaling – or about a certain painting – you can always send me an e-mail.

Used materials in my Art Journal and more

I only use quality materials.
For coloring the artwork I use Amsterdam Experts Acrylics and Inks, Fluids and High Flow Acrylics from Golden, and other various professional brands. The paint is highly pigmented and the colors are bright and deep and they will last. Besides acrylics I also use various inks, Indian inks, pigments, metallic, powders and so on; all from the known professional brands and way to much to mention here in a list.
I also use various mediums (gesso, thinners, thickers, gels) of professional brands like Golden and Liquitex.
